We Welcome You

The Conditions for Candidacy outlined below were developed to ensure that our patients are fully prepared for their journey to improve their erectile function. Each condition reflects a deep commitment to personal growth, realistic expectations, and a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, setting the stage for a successful and fulfilling experience.

Medical Criteria

Candidates for evaluation at Vascular Institute for Erectile Dysfunction are patients with erectile dysfunction who

  1. no longer have good erections in response to ED pills (Viagra, Cialis, etc.) or
  2. never responded to ED pills despite increasing doses or
  3. have adverse reactions to ED pills

Patients with erectile dysfunction who have good response to ED pills, or those who have been recently prescribed ED pills (< 3 months) are not candidates for evaluation at Vascular Institute for Erectile Dysfunction.

Commitment to Self

Embarking on this journey may require an unfamiliar and possibly uncomfortable level of commitment to yourself. Investing time, energy, and resources into your personal journey can feel daunting and even self-indulgent at first. However, this is a crucial step towards embracing a holistic approach to self-improvement and well-being. Patients are required to quit smoking, decrease alcohol intake to a maximum of 14 units of alcohol per week, perform 150 minutes of moderate physical activity a week, and eat 5 portions of fruits or vegetables a day.

Embracing Realistic Expectations

Dr. Masabni’s expertise lies in improving your erectile function by performing state-of-the-art, minimally invasive procedures to help you achieve better erections. However, this requires patience as your erectile function will not improve immediately after the procedure and may take up to 3 months to achieve the erections you desire.  It also requires continued follow-up with Dr. Masabni as improving blood flow to the penis may unmask another treatable disease – penile leak of the penis. This occurs in around 20% of patients treated with stent placement for erectile dysfunction.

Commitment to the Process

To ensure the best possible outcomes, it’s crucial to follow Dr. Masabni’s preoperative and postoperative instructions closely and attend all scheduled post-op and follow-up appointments. These steps are vital in preserving the integrity of your results and facilitating a smooth, successful recovery.

Confirming Medical Fitness

Partnering with your primary physician, relevant specialists, and Dr. Masabni’s team to obtain medical clearances is a critical step. It’s a collaborative effort to confirm your health status, guaranteeing your safety and the best possible outcomes.
